Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club Macau Race (10-12 May 2008) Race 1 – Hong Kong to Macau, 10 May 08
Not the most exciting of starts for the first leg of the 2008 RHKYC Macau Race which got underway on a calm sea under grey skies this morning. In a spirit of kindness, the Race Officer hoisted the AP and the planned 1000 hours start for HKPN Division was held for 15 minutes to allow a couple of tardy competitors to reach the start line off the South East of Lamma Island, Hong Kong.

Australian Offshore Challenge
The second running of the Australian Offshore Challenge kicks off on Sunday, September 7 and promises to build on the excitement established in the inaugural Bass Strait Rally of 2007. For the 2008 event held in Queensland, the level of interest is already high with registrations coming in from around Australia and New Zealand.

    Melbourne and Singapore Marinas Accredited for Environmental Standards
    The Marina Industries Association Waterfront City Marina in Melbourne has been accredited as a Clean Marina after auditing as part of the MIAA Clean Marina program. Marina at Keppel Bay in Singapore also recently gained Clean Marina accreditation.

    IMC 2008 brings members of the marine industry together
    Established to promote awareness of the recreational marine industry and to bring industry members together under one global organization, ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations) will hold its 6th annual International Marina Conference (IMC) in Oostende, Belgium May 25th – 28th. IMC is the industry’s largest marina conference in the world bringing together 85 speakers and panelists from 20 countries addressing topics focused on marina design, operations and management.
