General Info
Sydney Harbour has many skipper yourself charter yachts, including Catalinas, Hunters, Beneteaus, Cavaliers, Northshores and Jeaneaus from 16.5ft (5m) to 40ft (12m). Motor cruisers, half cabin boats, dinghies and canoes are also available. All boats over 40ft require a skipper. Most charters on Sydney Harbour are for a half or full day but overnight charters are available. No budget boats are available.
Included
Fully equipped kitchen, fuel on yachts.
Extras
Overnight charge, food, fuel for motor vessels, skipper for half day or full day.
Insurance
The boats are comprehensively insured but a security bond is payable on arrival and refundable, less deductions for minor loss and damage within 7 days of completion of charter.
Overseas charterers should arrange travel insurance cover before leaving their home country.
Yacht racing requires extra insurance.
Duration
All boats may be rented for a half day or longer. A day charter is from 9am - 5 pm.
Experience
One or two members of your party should have some experience on a boat of similar size.
Yachts and motor cruisers which do not exceed 10 knots do not require a licenced driver. Licence information at NSW Waterways Authority.
Boats over 40ft require a skipper.
Charter Briefing
Prior to taking the boat you will be given a one hour briefing. If you are then considered to not have sufficient experience you will have the option of hiring a skipper or forfeiting any money paid. Charter boats are required to be on a mooring or at anchor by sundown.
Seasons
Low Season - May to mid September
Mid Season - Mid September to December 19 & February to April
High Season - December 20 - January 31, Easter and October long weekend
